Got a question about student life? From program comparisons to admission requirements to residence reviews—get real answers from real Canadian students. I have heard that people who did compsci at UofT said it was great, though it was not worth the price they paid for it. The program is challenging, but if you are focused you probably won't have any issue completing it.

Also, the university of Toronto has a really strong name backing it, but isn't much compared to the opportunities Waterloo grads get. Ryerson's program focuses less on theoretical aspects of compsci, and is geared more towards a career in compsci. As I've heard, those who went to Ryerson actually do better in career environments than UofT grads, as the UofT focuses too heavily on teaching theory.

Though if you want to become a professor, UofT beats Ryerson hands down. Ryerson is known for being a commuter school, with residence only housing or so students.

UOIT vs Ryerson Vs UofT vs York Vs UofT Scarborough Computer Science

Both Ryerson and UofT have stunning downtown locations, if that's your thing. I don't know too much about York U, I did visit their campus and it was nice, though I don't like the location too much.

Ryerson Computer Science Day In the Life of a Student (2019)

Like Ryerson, York is a commuter school. In all honesty it's up to you, like everyone I have my biases. You have to analyze what matters to you, and what you plan on doing with your computer science degree. I personally will be going to Ryerson, I love downtown Toronto, and I value practicality more than theory.

For your grades though, you may want to consider UofT- if you can afford it, if you plan on teaching later, if you're responsible enough, etc. UofT has arguably the best computer science program in Ontario. If UofT is an option, and you are serious about a future in the industry at all, you pick UofT. You are literally choosing between top 2 school vs. I understand that UofT and loo are the best program, but they don't take repeated course so you can't really improve from taking a next year.

Should do some research but I'm pretty sure the curriculum at Scarborough campus should be the same as the other campuses. In the end you can be successful anywhere, it is just easier at certain schools.

I would not go to Ryerson or York if I were you. Seriously consider staying back a year to improve your marks and apply to Waterloo or UofT if you do not get in. It is what I would personally do if I was back in your position.Change Text Size. What is the Internet? Using E-mail What is E-mail?
